And they’re back! After some sweltering days hitting 35 degrees in California, our Narch teams are safely home! A new experience for most playing in these extreme temperatures.
Our New Zealand 21u team played in both the Narch 21u and 24u grades.
The NZ 24u grade was extremely competitive with the NZ players performing admirably in what the coaches predicted was a “stretch target” to help develop and extend them for their future participation at this level.
The team was competitive with some very close and hard fought games. There were no more than 3 or less goals in every game they played, they were right on target for hitting the 21 grade on a high.
Some very creditable wins against reputable teams saw the NZ 21u meet the eventual gold medallists Labeda Bananeros Columbia in the semi final and finished a admirable 3rd place out of 12 teams.
The NZ 18U team played in the 18 Gold division and finished 7th of 8 teams against some very fast and highly skilled teams.
The team also played in the 21U grade to further develop and progress their game and put in some solid performances against the older grade teams.
Our NZ 16s had two teams – our Gold team played both 16 and 18 Gold divisions and worked hard against some very tough and skilled teams and players.
The NZ 16 Silver team played in the Silver division of both the 16 and 18 competition and placed 6th of 12 in the Silver grade with some solid playing performances and very creditable wins, they also finished 9th out of 12 in the 18 Silver grade.
Congratulations to our players, parents and supporters and to the Capital Penguins team members for their support during the NARCh tournament.
